Gangster or Civil Culture...

A good kung fu teacher is a tremendous blessing and finding a great master is akin to finding a gem in a haystack. If you are unfortunate to have encountered a bad master, you must know when to stop his influence and move on your own...

I have been asked to comment on an AGM Resolution by MCA Kuantan Division repeatedly and I had refused on several occassions in the larger interest of the party.

The Resolution by 111 Divisional delegates u
nanimously requested YB Pang Tzu Ming to move his service center to his constituency of Indera Mahkota on the following reasons:-

(1) He had raised hundreds of thousands from the public and had spent another big sum of money on renovation. As of to date his
Indera Mahkota building is perceived to be a white elephant.

pang tsu ming

Thus in the interest of public service, an additional premise is better than one. His argument that two premises will inconvenient the public is weak, lame and baseless.

Firstly, the two service centers are meant to be
complimentary and the public are welcomed to any of the centers irrespective of whether they are Indera Mahkota or Kuantan Parliamentary constituents. Meaning anybody can go to Indera Mahkota or Kuantan service center according to their convenience.

Like they said two stations gives the people an option and will provide competition and better services. Further this is in line with our Prime Minister's Key Performance Index or
KPI services.

(2) He had argued that
Kuantan MCA had invited him to join the service center.

Again, we must put on record that
Kuantan MCA had never extended any invitation to him in 2004. If there is any invitation, it is Datuk Fu Ah Kiow's personal wish and command. Further Pang had no buildings of his own then.

Pang is a perceived trouble maker who had lost and failed to retain his Divisional Youth post in
Kuantan in the year 1999. His outstanding credibility is his close proximity to Chan Kong Choy who had through his political muscles elevated Pang as a candidate in Semambu state seat in the 2004 general election despite being rejected by the Divisional Youth in the party election.

In less than a year after his election as Adun, Pang's
Indera Mahkota Divisional acting Chairman Yap Yeow Ho and his Branch Youth Chairman Randy Yap left the party to form GERAKAN citing irreconcilable differences. Yap Yeow Ho was his political mentor and business partner.Randy Yap is his immediate nighbor in a semi-detached house.

(3) I had been serving for two terms in
Indera Mahkota with continuous popular support from 1995 to 2004. In 2004, I had won with the highest majority in Pahang.

I had gradually ascended from a Vice Chairman , Deputy Chairman and the Divisional Chairman in 2
oo5. Again Pang had undermined and sabotaged me with the muscles of Chan Kong Choy.

In the recent 2008 general election, Kong
Choy had forcefully disregarded the Kuantan MCA unanimous AGM resolution supporting me to continue as a candidate to retain my Teruntum seat despite personal undertakings and promises made by him.

This was done with a hidden political agenda to displaced me permanently. I had obediently abided by the party's decision despite protest from
Barisan Nasional leaders and Mca grassroots.

I had continued to chair the Election Working Committee and mobilized the party machinery.
The political mistake by Mca HQ had cost and contributed to the lost of two Parliamentary seats and a state seat by marginal votes largely due to internal politics in Kuantan district.

Similarly in
Cameron Highlands Tanah Rata, a similar political exercise had resulted in the victory of an Independent candidate over DAP and BN. Kong Choy is now history and struggling for political credibility and Ka Ting had taken responsibility of the losses in the last general election.

Pang is still at his best fighting his shadows. He never stop undermining and sabotaging his perceived enemies. He had influenced my successor and his business partner YB Chang Hong Seong, an amicable fella to continue his political agenda to finish me off by challenging me in the party election last year of which I had won with more than 2/3 majority support . After the party election, I had prayed for peace and stability.

However, Chang had attempted to dislocate and displace the
Kampung Baru Village head by offering the post to a few who were not tempted and refused to be a political tool or bullet. There were others.

(4) Recently, Pang had formed a political service committee by incorporating Paya Besar, Indera Mahkota and Kuantan colleagues without notifying or consulting Kuantan MCA Division. The formation was widely publicized and is only a political exercise as they were never functional.

Kuantan had been the core spirit and service of the district all this while. Pang is in our Kuantan premise and he chose to disregard and belittled us consciously and intentionally.

Is this the way to be courteous to a hospitable host? It is not only bad manners but unbecoming of a leader. Are we being too kind in rendering him free services and support?

Due to the inability and the refusal of Pang to cultivate a friendly working
relationship with MCA Kuantan , Kuantan Divisional delegates had made a decision during the AGM suggesting Pang to return to his premise that have been left empty most of the time.

This is in the larger interest of
MCA and BN in the spirit of Key Performance Index. We can see from here who is performing and who is enjoying...

Pang had through the media denied that he had received any notice from
Kuantan MCA. Pursuant to his public call for a notice, I had to instruct the Secretary to forward a notice to the effect and intent of the delegates in accordance with the mechanism of the party.

Previously I had halted and held back the notice for about a year despite decisions by the Divisional Committee that Pang should move back to his premise.
I had avoided a public spate on this matter until Pang incited and called his Indera Mahkota members for a discussion but turned it into a media attack on me personally.

Once again, it is proven that Pang had said one thing and do another.
He had said that we should not go to the press in the interest of the party but he had lambasted MCA Kuantan and it's delegates for daring to suggest that he move to his premise.

He had incited his Setali Branch Vice Chairman businessman who had no idea or inkling of what is going on here; to publicly attacked me and held me personally responsible for a decision made by delegates in the AGM.

This businessman is also the same man who had felt embarassed by Pang for not helping him in resolving his 30 over foreign workers being locked up by the immigration a three years back and he had to turn to me despite the fact that Pang is also a YB and his Chairman. He had to wait for me to come back from Khmer Rouge to resolve his predicament.

If
MCA through its AGM had passed a resolution, is the President of MCA going to be held responsible? Pang need to be educated on the mechanism and disciplines of the running of a party. Maybe he had been following 'kongsi gelap'culture and had failed to comprehend or follow a civil political culture.

He should be civil to his host i.e. Kuantan MCA. Just give me a line and I will call the respective Divisional leaders for a dialog to resolve this personal matter amicably.

Why involve Indera Mahkota members who are generally my friends and I had served them for two terms as an Adun.
By flexing his muscles or throwing his tantrums in a gangster-like style will not scare me.

I had withstand worst political crisis and refused to '
Kow Tow' to bigger Taikors despite being drag down the mud for I had been seen to be too pretty. Remember the gangster movies. Don't look too smart or clever if you are a small fella.

Call me stubborn or
recalcitrant but that is my trait. Pang should have known better than to try his bullying or intimidating tactics on me. Maybe Pang has lost his direction now that his political master is missing inaction?

My advice to Pang as a fellow member is to touch base. Act in good faith.Be sincere. Reflect upon yourself...why is it that MCA Kuantan delegates do not welcome you anymore in their premise? I had quietly accepted stones and mud thrown my way, but Kuantan delegates cannot accept your underhand tactics anymore...

As a leader, I will still help to resolve and overcome his problem...God willing!

Dato, although I support you
wholeheartely, I think YB Pang should
be allow to use the facilities in the
MCA Kuantan Office since he is also
an elected representative and member
of MCA.I know that,they including
YB Hoh are trying very hard to get rid of you,but you must be magnanimous and not fall into their
trap for by asking him to vacate his
office, it will only give him a reason to say that you are being arrogant.

YB Phang should get out from the premise.

MerLin said...

Giam! You got it all wrong. MCA Delegates resolved that PANG leave the premise and go back to his office.
I am of the opinion that YB Pang must respect the democratic process and go back his place.

giam2020 said...

MerLin, I know that the delegate got
a right to pass a motion, but on the other hand, the building belong to all member and they also have the right to use the premises as long as
it it for legitimate use. This is part
of democracy.I am being impartial and
not taking side. The problem here is
whoever is on the loosing side is always force to vacate. So how do you
expect members to fully support when
we are not united.

Giam, u got it all wrong. This is not a case of who win or lose. Chang who lost in Mca Ktn is still allowed to emain in Mca Building in Ktn.

Pang is in another Division and has his own building now. He is in Indera Mahkota Division and has his own building now.

Now Kuantan is only asking him to go and operate his building in Indera Mahkota. All members can use both buildings.

Only the administration and operating of Adun Pang in Indera Mahkota and Adun Chang in Kuantan. This is very fair and clear.

Two house, each to it's own. Dato Ti did not ask Chang to leave. He is magnanimous to let Chang to remain in Kuantan eventhough he lost. Pang is from another Division and has his own house now in Indera Mahkota. Now he should go back to his house instead of disturbing in people's house i.e. Kuantan

Satu lagi,
Kenapa awak suka sangat ambil jasa selepas tolong orang? as a YB tolong orang adalah tanggungjawab awaklah, bukan untuk awak ambil jasa selepas itu...perengai awaklah mengakibatkan awak tak dapat jadi calon tahun lepas...
Sudah banyak kali saya perhati hal ini, wahlau kalau saya suruh awak tolong saya settle hal ALONG, selepas itu awak bongkar kan ...malulah saya...

Dear Blogers, MCA Kuatan Division had never extended any invitation to YB Phang Tsu Ming in 2004 to make use of the MCA SERVICE CENTRE.I still remembered that it was the ex-MP for Kuantan Parliamentary Constituency, Datuk Foo Ah Kiow who chaired the meeting and suggested that he wanted the 2 ADUNS and himself to be in one Service Centre in order the serve the public effectively. Therefore, it was improper and unfair to make such a rudiculous statement that he was invited by MCA Kuantn Division to move into the Service Centre in 2004. When Datuk Foo lost the Kuantan MP seat, we graciously allowed YB Phang to use the premises for more than a year as he didn't had any building of his own then. Since he has his own Service Centre in Bukit Sekilau, it is proper that he shifted out to his new premises in order to serve his constituency effectively. The people will be effectively served as they have the options to go to any of these 2 Service Centres and politically speaking, these 2 Service Centres will cover a wider area comprising Kuantan and Bandar Indera Mahkota.
( P/S : One of the MCA Chairmen who was at the meeting at the Pusat Khidmat Rakyat, Kuantan ).

Dato Ti! I suggest you filter the comments here coz Pang's supporters are behaving like terrorist. Come in here with different names and talk nonsense. Like opposition troopers.

Two centres is better than one. 3 is even better provided they are all functional.

Those who look through black glasses will see everything black or blackish.

I dont see the logic of leaving one's own house empty and fighting to stay in another person's house.

I made the same observation with anonymous 9:01 that Pang's supporters are not behaving well, not logical and more emotional. Birds of the same type flock together, don't they?

I AGREE TO THIS STATEMENT:

Pang refuse to move out from service center based on 5 reasons:-

(1) He is getting lazy, by staying together with YB Chang, he can come and go any time. Chang can cover for him.

(2)He feel the pain to pay for a full-time clerk at the IM office. In MCA Kuantan, he uses everything free, no rental, only share a little bit expenses with CHang. Rest of the money can go for minum at night. How nice

(3) He tought so CKC is still around to help him, to protect him but everything has changed.

(4) He is an accountant, he is stingy.

(5) This term may be his last term because Semambu is no longer safe to contest. He has done nothing for the kawasan, further this semi urban area is full of pro-pakatan supporters. He may lose in the next general election. He need time to do brokering in KL so that when he loses election, he already rich enough to ensure a wealthy lifestyle.

IS ANY OF THE 5 REASONS VALID OR NOT ?

Dato Ti,

Inilah budaya politik kita. Rebut kuasa, wang, nama, pangkat dan kedudukan. Kononnya mahu bela kebajikan rakyat, rupanya hanyalah cakap-cakap kosong sahaja.

Dato Ti, first of all I would like to apologize for using your blog to pass my message to YB Pang because I know that he will not post this on his blog. He is not like you, even when people criticize or whack you on your blog. you still post it. This proved that you are a very open minded person.

The only solution to this feud is that YB Pang should leave Kuantan and go back to his own premise at Indera Makhota. What’s the point of insisting to be in a place where he is not welcome? Kuantan MCA has a Division Chairman and a State Assemblyman who are still capable and as matter of facts that the presence of YB Pang in Kuantan has caused more pain than gain. YB Pang as the Chairman of Indera Makhota MCA Division cum as State Assemblyman should clean up and organize his own service center ( after all, hundred of thousand of ringgit have been spent in renovating the building ). What’s the point of buying and renovating the premise if it’s not going to be utilized? It will be in vain and great disappointment to the people who have donated either in terms of monetary or efforts to the building fund. It’s very obvious that the money from the donors were spent unwisely!!! Great publicities about the opening of the Indera Makhota service centre with the presence of ministers but end of the day, it’s dormant and not functioning as promised during the officiating speech. (The need to buy and setup the service center is to cater, provide service and convenient to the rakyat). No wonder more and more Chinese are shying away from MCA!!!! So next time don’t blame the Chinese voters for not voting MCA’s representatives….

Anonymous said...

Kuantan MCA must be wary of what is happening today between them and Indera Makhota. The whole motive is to let Kuantan to become the fire starter of this feud!!! People will put the blame on Kuantan and will be branded as trouble maker!!!!!!Most of the people do not know who YB Pang really are and what is the exact situation..Truth will be twisted and coffeeshop talk will go againts Kuantan as more will sympathize YB Pang.....
